We are seeking a Network Engineer to support and scale network infrastructure within a fast-paced biotech environment. This role will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining secure, compliant, and highly available network systems that support research labs, clinical systems, and corporate operations.

The ideal candidate has strong enterprise networking experience and understands the unique requirements of GMP-regulated environments, including system validation, data integrity, and audit readiness.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and support LAN/WAN/WLAN infrastructure across office and laboratory environments
  • Configure and maintain Cisco devices (wireless and switches), Palo Alto Firewalls and Prisma
  • Support segmented networks for lab instruments, manufacturing systems, and corporate users
  • Ensure network compliance with FDA, and SOX requirements where applicable
  • Partner with Quality and Compliance teams on validation documentation (IQ/OQ/PQ)
  • Monitor and troubleshoot network performance using tools like SolarWinds or similar platforms
  • Implement and maintain network security controls
  • Support cloud networking (AWS/Azure) and hybrid connectivity to SaaS platforms (e.g., Veeva, NetSuite)
  • Maintain accurate network diagrams, SOPs, and audit-ready documentation
  • Participate in incident response, root cause analysis, and change management processes
  • Work closely with cybersecurity, and support teams to support critical systems 

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 4–7+ years of experience in network engineering within regulated or enterprise environments
  • Strong knowledge of Layer 2/Layer3 switching, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs
  • Hands-on experience with Cisco, Cisco ISE, Palo Alto (Devices and Prisma) and other network technologies
  • Experience managing firewalls, global protect VPNs, and cisco switches
  • Familiarity with network monitoring and alerting tools
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across both infrastructure and application connectivity 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in biotech, pharmaceutical, or life sciences organizations
  • Understanding of GMP validation processes (IQ/OQ/PQ) and audit requirements
  • Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or Palo Alto PCNSE
  • Experience with cloud networking (AWS VPC, Azure VNets, ExpressRoute/VPN Gateway)
  • Familiarity with lab environments, including instrument connectivity and OT networks 
     

Soft Skills

  • Ability to work cross-functionally with scientists, lab managers, and compliance teams
  • Strong documentation skills with an emphasis on audit readiness
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on data integrity and system reliability
  • Ability to prioritize in a fast-moving R&D-driven environment
$120,000 - $140,000 a year

Compensation and Benefits

The posted salary range represents Capricor’s good-faith estimate of the salary range reasonably expected to be paid for this position at the time of hire. Final compensation will be determined based on job-related factors, including the candidate’s relevant experience, education, skills, certifications, scope of role, location, and internal equity.

This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual performance bonus and, depending on the level of the role, long-term equity incentive awards in accordance with company policy.
