Position Overview:

VerticalEngineering is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Network Engineer to design, implement, and maintain our enterprise network infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of networking technologies, strong problem-solving abilities, and a passion for maintaining high-performance and secure network systems.
Key Responsibilities:

Design, configure, and deploy network solutions, including LANs, WANs, VPNs, and firewalls.
Install, maintain, and troubleshoot network hardware including routers, switches, load balancers, and firewalls.
Monitor network performance, identify bottlenecks, and ensure optimal network availability and reliability.
Implement and maintain network security measures to safeguard data and infrastructure.
Conduct capacity planning and recommend system upgrades or improvements.
Maintain comprehensive network documentation including topology diagrams, configuration records, and SOPs.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external vendors to resolve complex network issues and integrate new technologies.
Manage virtualized infrastructure and network configurations in virtual environments.
Stay informed about emerging networking technologies and industry best practices.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Minimum of 7 years of hands-on experience in network engineering or a related role.
In-depth knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing protocols (BGP, OSPF), and switching technologies.
Proficient in firewall setup and management (e.g., Cisco ASA, Palo Alto Networks).
Experience with VPN solutions (e.g., IPsec, SSL VPN).
System administration experience on Linux platforms.
Familiar with virtualization and containerization technologies (e.g., VMware, KVM, Docker).
Proficient with network monitoring and management tools.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

Industry certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or CompTIA Network+.
Experience with cloud networking (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
Familiarity with NAS/SAN high-speed storage networks.
Experience with network automation and scripting (e.g., Python, Ansible).
Understanding of network security standards and compliance protocols.
