Job Title: Network Engineer (SNR).
Location: Ashburn, VA.

Description:

  • As a Senior Network Engineer on the team, you will lead the technical execution of a large-scale project to transition client connections to new data center locations. You will be responsible for the end-to-end technical lifecycle of 1,500 routers and 1,500 Cradlepoint devices—from staging and base configuration to complex remote migration and failover validation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Network Design & Strategy: Review current-state client WAN architectures and select appropriate "go-forward" designs from established templates. Determine necessary hardware, software, and circuits for specific client needs.
  • Remote Configuration & Migration: Perform remote configuration changes on Customer routers and switches (Devices). This includes migrating 1,500 VPNs and eSolutions to new NAT spaces and updating firewall rules to perimeter-based policies.
  • Hardware Staging & Activation: Oversee the staging of 1,500 routers and 1,500 Cradlepoint devices at Telecommunication warehouses. This includes SIM card activation, firmware updates, and applying base configurations.
  • Implementation & Pilot Leadership: Lead pilot implementations to refine Method of Procedure (MOP) documentation. Provide remote support during maintenance windows for cutovers of MPLS devices and VPN gateways.
  • Validation & Troubleshooting: Execute failover testing at client locations and reconfigure router failover settings as required. Perform device health checks and provide troubleshooting support during the migration window.
Technical Qualifications:
  • Advanced Routing & Switching: Deep experience with Cisco/Juniper routers and switches, specifically in a data center migration context.
  • VPN & Tunneling: Expert-level knowledge of Virtual Private Networks (VPN) and migrating large-scale VPN estates.
  • Wireless WAN: Experience with Cradlepoint hardware and LTE/Cellular backup solutions.
  • Network Services: Proficiency in NAT space migration, MPLS, and Cloud Connectivity (Azure, AWS, or Equinix Fabric).
  • Operations: Familiarity with Change Management processes (CAB), Method of Procedure (MOP) authoring, and network monitoring tools.
