About the Position

This is a NON-STATE SERVICE position (X-16). The Mississippi Department of Education is seeking a Network Infrastructure Specialist III for the Office of Technology and Strategic Services (OTSS). This position will report to the Director of Infrastructure. Current projects include Azure Landing Zones implementation, migrating applications and services to Azure Landing Zones using Terraform and deployment pipelines, Intune for endpoint administration, M365 administration for collaboration, and supporting the application and data teams in cloud adoption. Responsibilities will include: • Microsoft 365 administration. • Intune and Autopilot administration. • Active Directory and Entra ID (Azure Active Directory) administration. • Azure public cloud services administration using IaC (Terraform). • Windows Server administration. • Network (switch, Wi-Fi, firewall, etc.) administration.

Ability to work and learn independently as well as collaborate with other members of the team. • Initiative and vision to find weaknesses in existing processes and infrastructure and come up with and implement solutions. • Ability to automate day-to-day tasks. • Willingness to continue to learn and grow with new technologies in a rapidly changing landscape.

Preferred Qualifications

Typically requires a Bachelor's Degree and 5-8+ years of IT experience with emphasis in network infrastructure, operations and administration.
