About the Position
This position will be responsible for the administration of VMware, Microsoft 365, Active Directory, Azure Active Directory, Windows Servers, and Network (switch, Wi-Fi, firewall, etc.) • Provides support to IT systems including day-to-day operations, monitoring and problem resolution for all of the client/server/storage/network devices, mobile devices, etc. • Manage help desk requests, providing technical guidance and support to ensure prompt and effective resolution of end-user issues • Maintain accurate and up-to-date network documentation, including configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides • Monitor system performance, network traffic, and security logs to proactively identify and address any issues or vulnerabilities • Monitor use, capacity and performance of network systems • Setup, manage, and monitor performance and utilization of VmWare hosts and virtual machines • Ensure back up, data integrity, and recoverability of all major systems • Perform new software releases and upgrades; evaluate and install patches and resolve network and communications hardware and software related problems • Manage and ensure optimal operation of all network hardware and equipment, including switches, wireless access points, hubs, and network interface cards • Assist in managing the agencys equipment inventory, including tagging and accounting of all agency IT equipment for annual equipment audits.

Exceptional customer service skills; excellent verbal and written communication skills to translate requirements and information from the various MDEQ divisions into technical specifications

Paid Personal Leave and Sick Leave
Full-time employees receive paid time off for personal needs and for sick leave. Leave begins accruing after one month of employment and may be used as it is accrued. Employees earn approximately 18 days of personal leave annually and 12 days of sick leave annually.
