IT Network Support Specialist (Infrastructure Support)
Location: Houston, TX (Onsite)
Pay Rate: $27.00/hour
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Employment Type: Contract or Full-Time

Position Overview
We are seeking an IT Network Support Specialist to support and maintain enterprise network infrastructure in a fast-paced environment. This role focuses on monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintaining network systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
This position is ideal for a technically skilled professional with foundational networking experience who is looking to grow into more advanced infrastructure responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
Network Monitoring & Support
- Monitor and maintain LAN/WAN infrastructure, including routers, switches, and network appliances
- Utilize network monitoring tools to ensure system health, uptime, and performance
- Support VPN connectivity and assist with secure remote access issues
- Maintain network connectivity technologies, including broadband and enterprise circuits
Troubleshooting & Technical Support
- Diagnose and resolve network-related incidents and service requests
- Assist with installation, configuration, and maintenance of network hardware
- Provide technical support for infrastructure issues, escalating complex problems as needed
Infrastructure & Documentation
- Support enterprise cabling and connectivity, including fiber, UTP, and wireless networks
- Maintain accurate network documentation and system records
- Assist in implementing infrastructure updates and improvements
Project & Vendor Coordination
- Support network-related projects, upgrades, and deployments
- Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors to resolve technical issues
- Assist in evaluating new tools, technologies, and solutions
Compliance & Continuous Improvement
- Follow established IT policies, procedures, and compliance standards
- Conduct basic risk assessments prior to system changes
- Identify opportunities to improve network performance and reliability
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field, or equivalent experience
- 2 to 4 years of experience in IT support or networking
- Foundational knowledge of:
- Network infrastructure (routers, switches, firewalls)
- LAN/WAN environments and VPN connectivity
- Network monitoring and troubleshooting tools
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
Preferred
- CompTIA Network+, CCNA, or similar certification
- Experience supporting enterprise or multi-site environments
- Familiarity with network security fundamentals
