Piper Companies is seeking a Network Operations Engineer to join a Service Delivery team supporting a key Service Provider account in a hybrid, on-site role based in New York. This is a highly technical, client-facing engineering position focused on post-sales support, network operations, and migration from Cisco to Juniper platforms.

Responsibilities of the Resident Network Engineer include:

Serve as a Juniper SME for the customer, providing hands-on support across MX304, EX switches, SSR routers, and Mist platforms. Lead operational and engineering efforts including troubleshooting, design support, and industrial engineering tasks. Provide technical guidance and training to customer teams, including implementation and support personnel. Facilitate weekly operations calls to review network health, JTAC case status, and ongoing issues. Proactively audit network configurations, alarms, and logs to identify risks and recommend improvements. Support migration efforts from Cisco to Juniper, leveraging deep knowledge of both ecosystems. Conduct design workshops and collaborate with customer stakeholders to shape sustainable network architectures. Test and validate new features, patches, and fixes in both lab and live environments. Assist with network inventory tracking and documentation of operating procedures. Raise and manage RMAs through resolution. Peer with other Resident Engineers to share lessons learned and best practices.

Qualifications for the Resident Network Engineer include:

5+ years of experience in service provider or enterprise network engineering roles. Strong hands-on experience with Juniper MX, EX, SSR, and Mist platforms. Familiarity with Cisco devices and migration strategies. Deep understanding of routing protocols including MPLS, ISIS, Segment Routing, and IP-based services. Experience with SD-WAN, switching, and Wi-Fi technologies. Proven ability to present in front of clients and lead technical discussions. Excellent troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills. Ability to work independently, take initiative, and maintain a customer-first mindset. Willingness to work extended hours and be on-site 2-3 times per week in New York.

Compensation for the Resident Network Engineer includes:
