Job Title: Network Security Engineer

Location:New York City, NY
Duration: 6 Months (Extension Expected up to 12 Months)
Schedule: Full-Time | 7.5 Billable Hours per Day | Monday–Friday
Work Arrangement: 100% Onsite

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Network Security Engineer to support enterprise network infrastructure and security operations within a highly secure onsite environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in network engineering, security monitoring, routing and switching technologies, firewall administration, and network segmentation.

This role requires hands-on experience configuring and maintaining enterprise-grade network security infrastructure across complex environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, configure, and maintain secure network infrastructure
  • Implement and support Authentication, Authorization, and Accounting (AAA) solutions
  • Configure and manage TACACS authentication environments
  • Support network segmentation and isolation initiatives
  • Configure and troubleshoot routing and switching protocols including:
    • Static Routing
    • BGP
    • OSPF
  • Deploy and manage firewalls, routers, and switches across enterprise environments
  • Perform packet capture (PCAP) analysis and network troubleshooting
  • Support network security monitoring and traffic analysis tools
  • Implement and maintain network taps and monitoring solutions
  • Collaborate with infrastructure and security teams to improve network security posture
  • Document configurations, procedures, and operational standards

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of Network Engineering experience
  • Strong experience with:
    • Cisco networking technologies
    • Juniper networking equipment
    • Palo Alto firewalls
    • Routing and switching protocols
    • Network security monitoring tools
    • AAA and TACACS environments
    • Network segmentation and isolation
    • PCAP analysis
  • Hands-on experience configuring enterprise switches, routers, and firewalls
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
  • Ability to work fully onsite in a secure enterprise environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Network automation experience
  • IDS/Intrusion Detection experience within OT environments
  • Experience with Cisco Secure Network Analytics (StealthWatch)
  • Cisco certifications:
    • CCNA
    • CCNP
    • CCIE
  • Scripting experience using Python or similar languages
  • Experience working with operational technology (OT) network security environments
