Network Security Engineer
Location: New York, NY (2 Manhattan Locations)
Work Schedule: Full-Time | Monday through Friday | 7.5 billable hours per day
Work Environment: 100% Onsite Duration: Through 12/31/2026 with anticipated 12-month extension
Compensation: $115,000 - $130,000 annually
Interview Process: 1-2 rounds (initial virtual interview followed by possible onsite interview in NYC)
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Network Security Engineer to support a high-visibility enterprise environment in New York City. The ideal candidate will possess strong hands-on experience in secure network architecture, network monitoring, routing and switching protocols, and enterprise security technologies. This role requires an individual who is comfortable operating in a highly secure onsite environment and capable of supporting complex network infrastructure initiatives.
The selected candidate will be responsible for designing, configuring, securing, monitoring, and troubleshooting enterprise network environments while supporting ongoing modernization and security efforts.
Required Qualifications
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
- Minimum of 5 years of hands-on Network Engineering experience
- Strong understanding of Authentication, Authorization, and Accounting (AAA)
- Experience with TACACS administration and integration
- Knowledge of Network Segmentation and Isolation strategies
- Strong experience with switching and routing protocols including:
- Experience with Network TAPs and traffic visibility solutions
- Experience utilizing Network Security and Monitoring Tools
- Hands-on experience configuring and designing:
- Cisco Switches/Routers
- Juniper Devices
- Palo Alto Firewalls
- Experience performing PCAP analysis and network troubleshooting
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Network Automation tools and frameworks
- Experience with IDS technologies within Operational Technology (OT) environments
- Experience with Cisco Secure Network Analytics (StealthWatch)
- Experience with Cisco ISE
- Scripting experience using Python or similar languages

Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain secure enterprise network infrastructure
- Configure and support firewalls, routers, switches, and network monitoring systems
- Perform advanced troubleshooting and packet analysis using PCAP tools
- Support network segmentation and isolation initiatives
- Monitor and enhance network security posture across enterprise environments
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on infrastructure and security projects
- Maintain documentation related to network architecture, configurations, and operational procedures
- Support incident response and remediation efforts related to network security events
