Network Security Engineer - Onsite

Kforce has a client in Boston, MA that is seeking a Network Security Engineer for an onsite role. Summary: Our client, a leading global investment firm, is seeking a Senior Security Engineer to join its Information Security team. This is an opportunity to help secure a complex enterprise environment supporting global business operations while working alongside a highly technical security organization. This is a highly hands-on engineering role focused on building, securing, and continuously improving enterprise security capabilities. The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in infrastructure and networking and enjoys solving complex security challenges across cloud, identity, endpoint, and network security. Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and enhance enterprise security solutions across network, cloud, endpoint, identity, and infrastructure environments
• Engineer and maintain enterprise security technologies including firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, email security, endpoint protection, and identity security
• Secure enterprise cloud environments across AWS and/or Azure
• Investigate security incidents and continuously improve detection and response capabilities
• Partner with infrastructure and engineering teams to improve overall security posture and remediate vulnerabilities
• Develop security automation using PowerShell, Python, or similar scripting languages
• Evaluate and implement emerging security technologies, including AI-related security capabilities where appropriate
• Contribute to enterprise security architecture, standards, and operational best practices

Requirements:

• 6+ years of hands-on Security Engineering experience within complex enterprise environments
• Strong background in enterprise networking, infrastructure, and security engineering
• Experience with enterprise firewall technologies such as Palo Alto, Check Point, Cisco, Fortinet, or similar platforms
• Experience securing cloud environments (AWS and/or Azure)
• Experience with endpoint security, vulnerability management, identity security, and enterprise security operations
• Strong understanding of Windows, Active Directory, Linux, networking, virtualization, and modern infrastructure technologies
• Experience with PowerShell, Python, or other scripting languages for automation
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills
• Financial services experience is a plus but not required
