JOB SUMMARY:

The Network & Systems Administrator will be responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and security of the organization's hardware, software, cloud applications, and network infrastructure. This position ensures the optimal performance, reliability, and security of networks, including LAN, WAN, wireless networks, and related systems.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES (*ESSENTIAL DUTIES):

  • Network Design & Implementation:

  • Collaborate in the design and implementation of new network solutions or upgrades to meet evolving organizational requirements.

  • Install, configure, and maintain network hardware such as servers, routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless infrastructure.*

  • Implement network security measures to protect systems and data.

  • Troubleshooting & Maintenance:

  • Proactively monitor network performance, diagnose and resolve network connectivity and performance issues.*

  • Perform software and hardware upgrades to maintain network stability and efficiency.*

  • Ensure regular backups and implement disaster recovery plans.*

  • User Support & Management:

  • Provide technical support to end-users in resolving network-related issues.

  • Create and manage user accounts, permissions, and network access levels.*

  • Manage all IT aspects of new hire onboarding and terminated employee offboarding procedures.

  • Support IT Training program including production of reference materials and SharePoint Knowledge Management Site.

  • Documentation & Compliance:

  • Maintain detailed network diagrams, configurations, and documentation.*

  • Manage the organization's Security Awareness Training Program.*

  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and internal IT policies.

  • Infrastructure and Cloud Application Management:

  • Manage Microsoft 365 environment, Azure, and other cloud platforms.*

  • Manage and Monitor Collaboration tools and Storage Platforms.*

  • Configure and maintain VMWare and Hyper-V Virtualization environments.*

  • Maintain and support MDM, RMM, Managed SOC, Endpoint Security, and other IT Service management platforms.*

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of Bachelor's degree plus 5 to 7 years of experience.
  • Proficiency with the following applications: Windows Workstation/Server OS, VMware, Microsoft 365, EDR/MDR, Email Security Solutions, Microsoft SQL Server, Enterprise Backup/Restore/Replication Platforms, and strong exposure to emerging technologies.
  • A strong understanding of LAN, WAN, Active Directory, TCP/IP, VPN, DNS, routing, switching, and firewall technologies is required.
  • Strong technical and problem-solving skills.
  • Other essential skills are to be a team player with good customer service, leadership, and communication skills.

Required Education Credentials (Minimum of 2 of more):

  • Microsoft or Cisco Certifications in infrastructure or Networking
  • CompTIA Server +, Network +, or Security +
  • CISSP or CySA+
  • ISC2 SSCP
  • ISC2 CCSP
  • CompTIA SecurityX

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

This position is based in Washington, D.C. with a hybrid work schedule of three days in the office and two telework days.

COMPENSATION PACKAGE:

The salary range for this role is starting at $125,000-$130,000 per year on a national basis. Individual pay decisions are based on a number of factors, including but not limited to qualifications for the role, relevant work experience, skillset, internal equity, location, and certifications, consistent with applicable law. Salary is just one part of our total rewards package which additionally includes performance bonus for eligible roles, and competitive benefits.
