Maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot the College's wired and wireless networks to ensure secure, reliable connectivity across campuses. This role supports instruction, operations, and student services while collaborating closely with Systems, Security, and Instructional Technology teams.

Primary Responsibilities • Maintain and support wired and wireless network infrastructure including switches, routers, firewalls, and access points. • Monitor network health, performance, and availability using network management and monitoring tools. • Respond to network-related alerts, outages, and incidents; troubleshoot issues and escalate when necessary. • Support enterprise wireless systems including access point configuration, placement validation, and basic RF troubleshooting. • Troubleshoot wired and wireless connectivity issues for faculty, staff, students, and institutional devices. • Support VoIP phones, networked printers, cameras, and other IP-based devices. • Perform routine network maintenance tasks such as firmware updates, configuration backups, and hardware refreshes. • Support network readiness for new buildings, renovations, and classroom technology installations. • Maintain accurate network documentation including diagrams, IP address management, VLANs, and port mappings. • Identify, document, and escalate suspected security incidents or anomalous network activity. • Support compliance efforts related to institutional, state, and federal requirements. • Participate in vulnerability remediation and risk-reduction activities as directed. • Collaborate with Systems Administrators, IT Security staff, and Instructional Technology teams on infrastructure initiatives. • Participate in network upgrades, refresh cycles, and technology modernization projects. • Provide technical support during scheduled maintenance windows and emergency response events. • Document incidents, resolutions, configuration changes, and procedures in the IT ticketing and knowledge base systems. • Maintain up-to-date network diagrams, inventories, and configuration records. • Communicate clearly with end users regarding outages, maintenance windows, and resolution timelines. • Provide basic guidance to users on wired and wireless connectivity best practices.

Other Duties • Assist with: • configuration, deployment, replacement, and decommissioning of network equipment. • diagnosing wireless coverage, interference, roaming, and client connectivity issues. • network authentication and device onboarding solutions. • structured cabling projects, including coordination with vendors and verification of cable installations. • network security controls such as segmentation, access control, and monitoring. • evaluation, testing, and pilot deployment of new networking technologies. • risk-management and loss-prevention activities. • Maintain a working knowledge of the college's emergency procedures and actively participate in the college risk-management program. • Monitor conditions, events and circumstances that present risk to the college community. Intervene and/or report as specified in the college's risk-management plan.

Minimum Necessary Skills, Experience, and Educational Background Associate's degree in IT or related field required, bachelor's preferred. Two (2) years of enterprise or campus network support experience. Knowledge of TCP/IP, VLANs, DHCP, DNS, routing, and switching. Strong troubleshooting, organizational, and customer service skills. Higher education or public-sector experience preferred. Experience with enterprise wireless, VoIP, and monitoring tools preferred. CompTIA Network+, Cisco CCNA, or equivalent certification preferred. Valid driver's license. Spanish or French proficiency preferred.

Physical Requirements to Perform Job Function Basic dexterity skills (computer work, telephoning, and other office equipment). General physical effort required includes sitting, bending, reaching, and some lifting (40 lbs. or less) and the ability to place a work order for anything over that limit.
