Position Title: Network Technician
Location: On-site, multiple locations across the 7-county metro area, job includes performing work both inside and outside
Duration: 6 months (Anticipated July 15, 2026 - December 15, 2026)
Work Schedule: Full-time, flexible schedule required
Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:
- Install or replace physical network switches and ports in Transit and Council system infrastructure throughout the organization
- Support System Engineers in diagnosing and troubleshooting network connectivity issues
- Support and communicate about workspace standard power systems and wireless connectivity issues with the network team
- Document work performed using pictures, notes, and shared spreadsheets
- Ensure equipment installation is in proper location of Council and Council connected infrastructure
- Ensure basic installation steps are performed
- Communicate set-up issues and concerns with System Engineers and the network team
- Identify appropriate hardware equipment to be transported and delivered for the required job
- Safely load and secure hardware equipment in Council vehicles
- Document appropriate hardware equipment delivered to System Engineer
- Discuss planned hardware transportation, installation, schedule, and connection with the Systems Engineer
- Assist the Systems Engineer in layout of new infrastructure equipment
- Communicate planned work completion or issues
- Provide knowledge transfer to other Network Team members as required.
