    Neurodiagnostic Training Program Student

    Barnes-Jewish Hospital is seeking motivated individuals to join our paid Neurodiagnostic Training Program. This unique "earn while you learn" opportunity provides structured classroom and clinical training to prepare participants for a career in neurodiagnostics and successful completion of the national registry exam. No prior neurodiagnostic experience is required.

    Responsibilities

    • Participate in assigned classroom and clinical training activities.
    • Assist with patient preparation, electrode application, and neurodiagnostic testing under supervision.
    • Obtain and document patient histories and procedure information.
    • Complete required competencies, educational modules, and clinical documentation.
    • Demonstrate professionalism, punctuality, and a commitment to continuous learning.

    Qualifications

    • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
    • Basic computer proficiency.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
    • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to work effectively within a team while demonstrating initiative.
    • Compassionate, patient-centered approach with a commitment to quality care.

    Schedule

    • Monday through Friday
    • 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
    • No weekends or holidays

    Overview

    Barnes-Jewish Hospital at Washington University Medical Center is the largest hospital in Missouri and is ranked as one of the nation's top hospitals by U.S. News & World Report. Barnes-Jewish Hospital's staff is composed of full-time academic faculty and community physicians of Washington University School of Medicine, supported by a house staff of residents, interns, fellows and other medical professionals. Recognizing its excellence in nursing care, Barnes-Jewish Hospital was the first adult hospital in Missouri to be certified as a Magnet Hospital by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.

    The Neurodiagnostic Lab compliments Barnes-Jewish Hospital's Neuroscience division. Our Epilepsy Monitoring Unit is a Level IV Epilepsy Center, utilizing state of the art video monitoring equipment with a dedicated staff of Neurologists and Neurodiagnostic technologists.

    Preferred Qualifications

    Role Purpose

    Assists the Neurodiagnostic Technologist with electroencephalographic testing in the laboratory and at the patient's bedside, while completing an Accredited Neurodiagnostic Technology Certificate program. Trains on Academic Only testing which includes Long-Term Video EEG set up and monitoring, Evoked Potentials, routine and/or intraoperative Somatosensory Evoked Potentials. Completes all assignments and activities required of the Neurodiagnostic Certificate Program, ultimately earning the certificate. Is required to graduate from an accredited Neurodiagnostic Training Program within timeframe of contract.

    Responsibilities

    Completes all assignments and activities required of the Neurodiagnostic Certificate Program, ultimately earning the certificate.Assists the Neurodiagnostic Technologist with procedures (Academic and Routine), performs limited procedures under the supervision of a technologist.Participates in review sessions and clinical rotations as assigned.BJC has determined this is a safety-sensitive position. The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is an essential function of this job.
