The Neurologist provides comprehensive evaluation, diagnosis, and management of disorders of the central and peripheral nervous systems. This role includes care for patients with acute and chronic neurologic conditions, coordination of care across settings, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to deliver evidence-based, patient-centered care.
Key Responsibilities
Evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients with neurologic disorders
Perform comprehensive neurologic examinations and assessments
Diagnose and treat conditions such as stroke, epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, movement disorders, neuromuscular disease, headache disorders, and dementia
Provide inpatient neurology consultations and/or outpatient clinic care
Interpret diagnostic studies, including neuroimaging, EEG, EMG, and laboratory results, as applicable
Develop and implement individualized, evidence-based treatment plans
Manage neurologic emergencies and acute neurologic conditions
Collaborate with primary care providers, hospitalists, neurosurgery, rehabilitation, and ancillary services
Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment options, and disease management
Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant documentation in the electronic health record
Participate in quality improvement, patient safety, and clinical education initiatives
