Inova Neuroscience is a regional leader in the diagnosis, treatment, and research of complex neurological conditions involving the brain, spine, and nervous system. With multiple specialized neuroscience programs, Inova provides comprehensive, coordinated care across the continuum for patients with stroke, epilepsy, neuroimmunologic disease, movement disorders, neuromuscular disease, neurotrauma, neuro-oncology, and other neurological disorders.
The APP will work collaboratively with attending neurologists, consulting services, nursing staff, therapists, and care management teams to provide high-quality care for hospitalized patients with a broad range of acute and complex neurological conditions. This position practices within a highly collaborative multidisciplinary neuroscience environment at a regional referral center and Comprehensive Stroke Center.

Neurology Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA) Job Responsibilities:
Provide inpatient care for patients admitted to the general neurology service and participate in neurology consultation services in collaboration with supervising neurologists
Perform comprehensive neurological assessments, develop differential diagnoses, formulate management plans, and assist with coordination of diagnostic evaluation and treatment
Participate in the management of patients with acute neurological conditions including stroke, seizure disorders, encephalopathy, headache syndromes, movement disorders, neuromuscular disease, and neurodegenerative conditions
Interpret and synthesize clinical data including neuroimaging, EEG findings, laboratory studies, and consultant recommendations to support clinical decision-making
Collaborate closely with neurologists, hospitalists, intensivists, neurosurgery teams, nursing staff, therapists, and case management teams to support coordinated patient care and safe transitions of care
Participate in interdisciplinary rounds, patient/family discussions, and quality or operational initiatives as appropriate
Document clinical encounters accurately and efficiently within the electronic medical record
Maintain ongoing professional development and engagement in evidence-based neurological practice
