The University of Virginia Health System (UVA Health) is seeking a fellowship-trained Neuroradiologist to join our Community Division. This position offers the opportunity to practice the full spectrum of neuroradiology in a collegial, supportive environment serving Prince William Hospital, Haymarket Medical Center, Culpeper Hospital, Culpeper Outpatient Imaging Center and Gainesville Outpatient Imaging Center. The role combines the advantages of a dynamic community-based practice with the academic connection and resources of a nationally recognized university health system.
The successful candidate will devote approximately 90-95% effort to clinical service and 5-10% to administrative and service activities, with flexibility to adapt as the division evolves.
Clinical Responsibilities
- Interpret a comprehensive range of neuroradiology studies, including CT, MRI, CTA/MRA, and head/neck imaging, as well as routine radiography.
- Perform and interpret image-guided spine and head/neck procedures (e.g., lumbar puncture, myelography, CT-guided biopsies) as appropriate.
- Participate in multidisciplinary case conferences (e.g., tumor boards, stroke conferences) and provide consultative expertise for referring physicians and technical staff.
- Collaborate with referring providers, neurologists, neurosurgeons, oncologists, and emergency physicians to ensure the highest value use of imaging studies.
- Share in the divisions clinical schedule and call responsibilities, with occasional coverage at the Culpeper Outpatient Imaging Center.
Service & Administrative Responsibilities
- Contribute to divisional quality improvement, workflow optimization, and patient safety initiatives.
- Participate in peer review, protocol development, and marketing/recruitment efforts.
- Work collaboratively with technologists, nurses, and administrative staff to ensure high-quality imaging protocols and timely service.
- Support a culture of collegiality, inclusivity, and respect across the Division and UVA Health.
- Advance the professional reputation of UVA Radiology in the communities we serve.
Qualifications
- M.D. or D.O. degree; board certified/eligible in Diagnostic Radiology.
- Fellowship training in Neuroradiology.
- Eligibility for medical licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
- Strong clinical skills, collaborative mindset, and commitment to patient-centered care.

The base compensation range for this role is $464,554 - $629,875 for a 1.0 clinical FTE status. Individual compensation will be determined by fair market value and the selected candidate's qualifications, clinical experience, specialty training, credentials, and/or education. Please note that the pay range does not include any applicable incentive compensation programs, such as productivity, quality, non-productivity, or other incentives that may be available for eligible positions.
