Neurosurgery Nurse Practitioner – Boston, MA

  • Shift: Day shift, 3x13-hour shifts per week (6:00 AM – 7:00 PM)

  • Employment Type: Contract
  • License/Certifications: Current Massachusetts RN license, Board Certified in Neurosurgery (required)
  • Experience: Minimum 1 year neuro experience
  • Patient Population: Adults
  • Procedures: Inpatient neurosurgery, rounding with residents, patient assessments, discharge planning, ordering, and reviewing patient care plans
  • Preferred Skills: Ability to remove drains (Hemovac/Jp drains)

Pay & Benefits:
  • Hourly Pay Rate: $129.98/hr

What You’ll Do:
  • Collaborate with residents to perform rounds on neurosurgery patients
  • Review patient progress and update care plans
  • Manage inpatient neurosurgical cases, including ordering and reviewing treatments
  • Discharge patients and coordinate follow-up care
  • Work independently on patient assessments and interventions related to neurosurgery
  • Document all patient interactions using Epic EMR system
  • Ensure compliance with hospital protocols and safety standards

What You Need:
  • Active Massachusetts RN license
  • Board Certification in Neurosurgery
  • Minimum 1 year neuro-specific clinical experience
  • Ability to perform drain removal (preferred)
  • Strong clinical skills and ability to work independently
  • Excellent communication and patient care skills
