About the Facility This 974-bed tertiary hospital is a JCAHO-accredited Level 1 Trauma Center operating as part of a regional health system. The facility maintains 24/7 inpatient neurosurgical support with an established clinical team. Infrastructure and protocols are in place to support continuous neurosurgical coverage across inpatient settings. About the Facility Location North Carolina offers a range of regional attractions suited to diverse interests, including outdoor recreation opportunities and year-round activities accessible throughout the state. Clinicians on assignment will find options for exploration and leisure across the region. About the Clinician's Workday The physician associate will provide night shift inpatient neurosurgical coverage from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM on a one week on, one week off rotation beginning January 2027. Clinical responsibilities include managing admissions and discharges, responding to consultations, and providing OR first assist as desired; discharges at night are possible but not typical. The clinician will operate within a 974-bed tertiary, JCAHO-accredited, Level 1 Trauma Center alongside an established team of 9 neurosurgeons and 9 APPs providing 24/7 inpatient support. Current BLS and ACLS certifications through the American Heart Association are required, and board certification in neurological surgery is required for this assignment.
