Overview:

 

Join a team where you'll have the authority to make meaningful underwriting decisions and build a profitable nonprofit portfolio. In this role, you'll evaluate complex risks, determine pricing and coverage strategies, and partner closely with agents and brokers to drive growth and profitability. You'll also help shape the future of our nonprofit product offeringsthroughmarketresearch,businessdevelopment,andformenhancements.Asaseniorteammember,you'llmentorunderwritersatalllevels,supportdepartmentalinitiatives,andcontributetothedevelopmentofunderwritingtalentacrosstheorganization
 
This role can be based out of any AmTrust office; however, preferred locations include Melville, NY; Latham, NY; Alpharetta, GA; Overland Park, KS; Dallas, TX; Chicago, IL; Cleveland, OH; or Scottsdale, AZ. 4 days a week in office 

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Underwriteandmanageaprofitableportfolioofnonprofitmiddlemarketaccounts.
  • Buildstrongrelationshipswithagentsandbrokersservingnonprofitorganizations.
  • Evaluateandunderwritenewandrenewalbusinesswithincompanyguidelines.
  • Analyzerisks,pricing,coverage,endorsements,andexclusions.
  • Monitormarkettrendsandidentifynewbusinessopportunities.
  • Achieveproduction,profitability,andlossratiogoals.
  • Resolvecomplexunderwritingandcoverageissues.
  • Managepolicymaintenanceandmid-termservicerequests.
  • ReviewLossControlrecommendationsandensurecompliance.
  • Supporttraining,marketinginitiatives,andregionalunderwritingefforts.
  • Performotherdutiesasassigned.

 

Qualifications:

 

 
  • Education:Bachelor'sdegreepreferred;equivalentexperienceconsideredinlieuofadegree.
  • Designations:CPCU,CIC,AU,ARM,CPIW,CWIS,ASLI,orsimilarinsurancecourseworkpreferred.
  • Experience:2-5yearsofunderwritingexperience,including1-2yearsinnonprofitunderwriting.
  • Knowledge:Understandingofnonprofitunderwritingpractices,insurancelaw,andunderwriting/marketingprinciples.
  • Communication:Strongverbal,written,andinterpersonalcommunicationskills.
  • Negotiation:Advancednegotiationandrelationshipmanagementskills.
  • RiskAssessment:Abilitytoanalyzecomplexinsurancerisks,policylanguage,andaccountexposures.
  • PortfolioManagement:Experiencemanagingabookofbusiness,includingmonitoringaggregates.
  • ProblemSolving:Abilitytodevelopandimplementsolutionsforcomplexbusinesschallenges.
  • DecisionMaking:Exercisessoundjudgmentandworkseffectivelywithminimalsupervision.
  • Leadership:Abilitytotrainandmentorunderwriters,underwritingassistants,andinterns.
  • AnalyticalSkills:Abilitytointerpretmathematical,statistical,andmarketdatatosupportunderwritingdecisions.
  • Technology:Proficientinorabletoquicklylearnunderwritingandrelatedsoftwaresystems.
  • ComplexAccounts:Demonstratedabilitytosuccessfullymanagehighlycomplexaccounts

 

 

 

The expected salary range for this role is $85,000-$92,000.00.
