Job Summary
We are seeking an LPN or experienced Medical Assistant to join our team and help process our new patient referrals! As New Patient Intake Coordinator, you will be reviewing each referral for pain complaint, current medications, medical history and insurance. You will register patients in Athena EMR, upload the referral to the chart, verify their insurance and call to schedule. You will request imaging and medical records and send patients links for new patient form completion. You will also coordinate with referral offices, nurse case managers and legal offices. The ideal candidate has strong customer service skills, excellent time management, and previous medical office experience of 2+ years. 
Responsibilities 
  • Review each referral for pain complaint, current medications, medical history and insurance. 
  • Register patients in Athena EMR and upload the referral to the chart
  • Verify patient insurance  and eligibility
  • Call patients to schedule
  • Request imaging and medical records 
  • Email or text new patients links for new patient form completion 
  • Coordinate with referral offices, nurse case managers and legal offices
  • Other duties as assigned such as helping to cover as an MA when coverage is needed
