Location : Tampa Bay area, FL (100% Onsite Position Monday-Friday)

Summary
Our client, a global leader in the design and manufacture of consumer and safety products, is seeking a New Product Introduction (NPI) Test Engineer to join the Advanced Manufacturing Engineering team at their high-tech manufacturing, engineering, and product development facility in the Tampa area. NPI Test Engineer plays a key role in transitioning new products from development into full-scale manufacturing by designing and implementing robust test solutions. This role partners cross-functionally with engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure products are testable, reliable, and production-ready, while driving improvements in quality, yield, and efficiency.


Key Responsibilities
  • Define and develop test strategies, plans, and procedures for new product introductions.
  • Design and implement functional, in-circuit, and system-level test solutions.
  • Lead validation and deployment of test systems for prototype, pilot, and production builds.
  • Analyze test data to identify failures, root causes, and process improvement opportunities.
  • Support Design for Testability (DFT) and participate in design/process reviews (e.g., PFMEA).
  • Collaborate with R&D, manufacturing, and suppliers to ensure seamless product and test process transfer to production.
  • Drive improvements in test yield, cycle time, and overall product quality.
  • Ensure compliance with quality standards, validation requirements, and documentation practices.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field. BSEE is preferred, but not a hard requirement.
  • 3+ years of experience in test engineering within an NPI or manufacturing environment.
  • Hands-on experience with PCB-level testing (in-circuit and functional test systems).
  • Strong knowledge of test methodologies, instrumentation, and data acquisition systems.
  • Experience with test automation tools (e.g., LabVIEW, TestStand or similar).
  • Ability to analyze data and perform root cause analysis to drive improvements.
  • Strong problem-solving and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Preferred
  • BS Electrical Engineering
  • Background in electrical, electronics, or electro-mechanical systems.
  • Experience with DFM/DFA, quality systems, and lean manufacturing principles.
  • Familiarity with statistical analysis tools and production test environments.
