    Description

    The New Product Introduction (NPI) Technician will report to the NPI Supervisor and will be responsible for performing NPI Builds, line trials, and maintaining the NPI area. This person is expected to be able to execute against provided manufacturing instructions (if available), validate their own work, check the quality of previous operations, mentor production associates, lead builds in a defined area, and meet schedules. The NPI Technician is expected to be able to provide feedback, define standard work, and suggest process improvements. Experience with hand tools and use of semi-automated manufacturing equipment is necessary.

    • Perform complex and precise electro-mechanical assembly work and be able to work independently once a task is assigned, make connections with other employees, work fluidly with the team to achieve great results
    • Typically involves a variety of operations, including troubleshooting and rework, requiring a sufficient understanding of the functional operation of the items assembled as well as the finished product
    • Must be able to work from complex and detailed manufacturing documentation, drawings, and/or verbal and written instructions and specialized fixtures/test equipment
    • Have a quick and flexible approach to problem-solving, task juggling, and collaboration
    • Responsible for quality activities, including self-inspection and inspection
    • Update production records and test results, record process improvements, and manufacturability suggestions
    • Manage and complete tasks for multiple projects simultaneously, as required by manufacturing schedules, while adhering to standard times and maintaining a clean and orderly work area
    • Basic understanding of electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical systems
    • Ability to read and understand manufacturing instructions and mechanical drawings with a basic understanding of electrical systems
    • Must have a high level of craftsmanship and attention to detail married with the ability to work quickly. Basic machine shop skills desired with welding skills a plus
    • Must be reliable, have good initiative, be committed, and quality-focused, and have the ability to manage time to juggle multiple tasks and prioritize tasks
    • Previous product launch experience and fluent in MS Office Suite
    • Must be able to adapt to a flexible work schedule and work overtime as needed
    • Ability to climb and maintain balance on ladders, scaffolding, or other high structures
