Job Description:
Theoris Services is assisting our client in their search for a NGS Bioinformatician to add to their growing team located in San Diego. Our client is seeking an individual to support their large molecule NGS workflows in the ENPICOM IGX platform. This role will provide expert system support to enable biotherapeutic discovery projects and targeted data analyses to optimize and improve the system. 
 
Responsibilities:

• System Support
• Manage user accounts and system releases.
• Provide high-quality documentation and training.
• Manage templates and reference sequences.
• Define and implement workflow standards (e.g. naming conventions).
• Provide “white glove” service on discovery projects.
• Serve as liaison between scientists and software vendor: help scientists effectively leverage existing features; work with vendor to address unmet needs.
• Document and maintain requirements in a consistent format.
• Develop test plans to test the system against requirements, including comparison with previous system results.
• Work with SMEs to compile test data.
• Analyze historical NGS data (e.g. V-gene usage) to understand data behavior and impact on projects.
• Propose better thresholds and/or methods based on detailed evaluation.
• Provide on-demand data analyses as part of white glove service to answer scientific questions.
• Develop reusable standard NGS analyses in Jupyter Notebook or similar tool, such as a standard report from ENPICOM Collection and Cluster exports.
• Create a dashboard to monitor system metrics and health, including system usage, project count, contamination rate, and unfinished projects. Proactively detect anomalies and send alerts.
• Create packages using ENPICOM API and SDK to automate common use cases.
• Become expert on ENPICOM API/SDK and use them to address cases not easily solved by the GUI.

 
Requirements:

• B cell biology, antibody discovery, protein engineering, molecular biology, NGS sample prep, Illumina MiSeq, high-throughput antibody screening, phage/yeast display, immunization campaigns.
• Python, NGS data analysis (preferably BCR/TCR), Github, Unix, Bash, API, dashboard apps (Plotly/Dash, Streamlit, Spotfire, Tableau, R Shiny), Jupyter, Docker. Experience with ENPICOM IGX platform is helpful but not required.
• Large system support, system administration, scientific user support, requirements gathering, software testing (unit/integration/regression), documentation (requirements & processes), support ticket management, Agile methodology.
