Our client is seeking an experienced NGS Specialist with a strong background in molecular biology, next-generation sequencing, and high-complexity laboratory testing. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Illumina or PacBio platforms, along with the ability to perform, validate, and troubleshoot molecular assays in a high-throughput laboratory environment.
Job Title: NGS Specialist / Molecular Biology Specialist
Location: Indianapolis, IN (Onsite)
Duration: 1-Year (12 Months) Contract
Pay Rate: $32/hour on 1099

Key Responsibilities:
- Perform molecular biological testing and analysis on clinical and environmental specimens
- Extract nucleic acids using manual and automated methods
- Work with PCR, MALDI-TOF, and NGS-based techniques
- Support development, validation, and implementation of new testing methods
- Prepare SOPs, validation documents, and technical reports
- Provide oversight of high-complexity testing and maintain quality control standards
- Document instrument maintenance, calibration, and corrective actions
- Ensure compliance with laboratory safety, QA, and regulatory requirements
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor s degree in biological science or related field
- 1+ year of NGS experience using Illumina or PacBio instruments
- 2+ years of high-complexity laboratory experience
- Strong knowledge of molecular biology, microbiology, and laboratory testing procedures
- Familiarity with CLIA, QA/QC, and laboratory safety practices
- Strong communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills
Work Schedule: Monday Friday, 8:15 AM 4:45 PM, flexible lunch, no weekends required.
