Job Story
The NIAR ATLAS lab is looking for a SCRAM student assistant.

Job Summary
A student assistant will carry out administrative and technical tasks requested by a supervisor. Depending on the area the student assistant is employed in, they may assist and mentor other students or provide support throughout the campus in various forms.

Job Duties
-Operate robotic systems equipped with pellet extruder/milling/AFP/FFP/LMD head attachments.
-Operate NC programs for manufacturing operations.
-Perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot issues with mechanical/electrical/pneumatic systems.
-Program for additive and subtractive manufacturing processes.
-Clean and maintain the cell and the surrounding areas routinely.
-Assist program managers with projects moving through SCRAM cell processing.
-Organize and catalog tools, spare parts, and implements.
-Ensure proper PPE use and follow basic safety procedures to minimize accidents and harm to others within the work cell.

Required Education
High school diploma or equivalent

Additional Requirements
-Excellent problem-solving skills and a deep understanding of engineering principles.
-Able to work for 20 hours during school semesters and 40 hours during summer semesters.
-Familiarity with hand and power tools.
-Ability to complete forklift and gantry crane training.
-Excellent spatial reasoning skills and mechanical aptitude.

Physical Requirements
Ability to remain in a stationary position.
Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment including but not limited to phone, printers, copiers, and calculators.
Ability to communicate with others and accurately exchange information.
