Job Summary and Qualifications
This position supports the mission of PresbyterianSt Lukes Medical Center of optimizing the quality of life of all those served by expanding beyond the traditional focus on medical needs to the needs of the whole person. The NICU dietitian functions within the multidisciplinary team to provide nutritional care for all infants in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. This includes:
• Nutrition assessment and intervention education of staff and families. • Development of policies and procedures. • Participation in data collection projects. • Serving as a consultant to the entire healthcare team.
When needed, will perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Licensure
Certification • Registered Dietician or RDN (Registered Dietician Nutritionist) • Certified Nutrition Support Clinician or CSP (Certified Specialist Pediatrics)
Registration • RD (Registered Dietician) • CNSC (Certificated Nutrition Support Clinician) • CSP (Certified Specialist Pediatrics)
Education • Bachelor of Science or Arts and/or Masters Degree in Food & Nutrition or Dietetics from an accredited college or university.
Experience • Minimum of 2 years clinical experience in a NICU preferred.
Special Qualifications • Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English.
Degree of supervision required • Involves general guidance and direction by the Clinical Nutrition Manager. • Employee will be expected to perform most job duties independently and in accordance with established departmental and hospital policies and procedures.
Ages of Patients Served • This position requires knowledge of growth and developmental needs of patients and families. • Personnel in this position must recognize and respond to the behaviors of patients and families in each age category. • The employee must be able to demonstrate the special skills required to care for patients and their families according to standards. • The skills and knowledge needed to provide such care may be gained through education, training, or experience.
