    Job Summary and Qualifications

    At Henrico Doctors Hospital, our NICU Registered Nurse is responsible for performing clinical nursing duties for neonates and infants according to policy and procedures. In addition to performing neonatal assessments and providing appropriate interventions, you will also recognize developmental stages of neonates and infants and provide appropriate support to maximize the infants developmental outcome.

    You will recognize and respond promptly and appropriately to acute changes in neonate/infants condition as well as responding appropriately to emergency situations in the NICU and other hospital departments.

    Our staff is expected to demonstrate knowledge of pathophysiology for common neonatal disorders.

    As a NICU RN, you will provide support and teaching to the family unit.

    You must communicate effectively with all members of the health care team utilizing verbal and written skills.

    What qualifications you will need:

    • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing • BSN preferred • Current Registered Nurse license in Virginia or a compact license • Current BLS certification • At least one year of NICU RN experience is preferred but not required
