The Night Auditor works independently overnight to manage front desk operations, balance daily financial transactions, and prepare the property for the next business day. This role combines guest service, problem-solving, and accounting responsibilities to ensure smooth overnight operations.
Previous hotel front desk or customer service experience preferred
Basic knowledge of hotel systems.
Strong attention to detail and ability to balance financial records accurately
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Good communication skills and professional demeanor with guests and team members
Ability to handle overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays
Problem-solving mindset with a focus on accountability and follow-through.
Monitor and manage front desk operations overnight, including check‑ins, check‑outs, and guest requests
Balance and audit all daily transactions, including room charges, payments, and adjustments
Run end‑of‑day reports and complete system rollover.
Ensure all reservations are in correct status with valid payment and required authorizations
Handle guest complaints and resolve issues professionally without unnecessary refunds
Maintain safety and security awareness, reporting incidents and contacting security when needed
Complete shift logs and document all activity in Teams or property log systems
Prepare reports for management, including occupancy, revenue, and audit discrepancies
Ensure lobby, front desk, and back office areas remain clean and organized
Support housekeeping and early morning operations as needed.
