Job Title: Night Scale Operator
Overview: We are currently seeking a night shift Scale Operator for our Cortland, NY location. Schedule will be Sunday-Friday 5pm to 5:30am.
Safety Expectations:All Suit-Kote employees are required to comply with all safety rules and to observe safe work practices and operating procedures at all times. Whenever on Suit-Kote property or job sites, or operating Suit- Kote equipment, employees are expected to conduct themselves in a manner that promotes the safety of the employee, co-workers and others.
Responsibilities/Job Duties:
· Operation of scale to weigh trucks as they enter and exit facility
· Record keeping
· Assist drivers loading trucks with asphalt
· Make and load oil
Required Skills/Abilities:
· Reliable transportation to and from work site
· Strong work ethic
· Strong math skills
· Physical Organization and time management
· Flexibility in hours - overtime and weekend hours may be necessary
· Passing a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening is required and a background check will be conducted
· Consent to a DMV license evaluation
· Must have or be willing to obtain an OSHA 10 Hour Safety Certificate
Physical Requirements:
· Must be able to lift 50 pounds
· Observe and comply with necessary PPE requirements
· Must be able to work in a noisy area with many odors present
· Bending, stretching, stooping, kneeling, crawling and squatting
Other Preferred Qualities:
• Ability to read and understand SDS
• Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office)
• High school diploma or GED - a two year technical degree
• Basic math
• Run forklift (training preferred)
Position is considered full time, but seasonal in nature, with anticipated lay-off in the November thru March time-frame. Site specific locations may have varying seasonal requirements that can extend or contract these timeframes.
Salary Range: $19-$20
