CNC Operator 4:30p - 1am (3am during busy season) Mentor, Ohio

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Run CNC machine, including upkeep and organization of all tooling and machinery
  • Specifying required tooling to Merritt purchasing associate
  • Coordinating tooling to be sharpened as required
  • Lubing and greasing machine and aggregates as required
  • General machine maintenance; pumps and tables
  • Review and edit programs to ensure quality expectations of machining parts correctly
  • Provide solutions in troubleshooting and streamlining CNC operation for speed and quality
  • Be creative with tooling and fixtures to machine unorthodox parts
  • Understand the overall picture of what is being made, and the time in which it will take
  • Read and thoroughly understand all engineering drawings and be able to know how the machined part relates to the assembled drawing
  • As standard protocol develops, learn, and use any new software tools to continue efficient and timely completion of assigned tasks
  • Manage detailed hard copy files for each work order of each job
 
REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS
  • Possess working knowledge of woodworking and general assembly techniques
  • Skilled use of sanders, glue machines, banders, and hand tools
  • Correctly perform all aspects of routine work, meeting quality standards and requirements
  • Must be able to achieve results in an accurate and timely manner
  • Communicate effectively with co-workers, managers, and others
  • Be able to share knowledge and ideas with others on the team
  • Perform activities that directly support team outcomes
  • Flexible in cross-training
  • Perform duties based on instructions and past practices
  • Respond to direction to aid others
  • May require some follow-up in new areas
  • Must be able to take responsibility for own contributions to team/unit goals
  • Maintain a safe, ergonomic work environment
  • Must be able to lift repetitively materials and/or parts weighing approximately 5-10 pounds
  • In order to get current job completed on-time may occasionally require overtime beyond traditional 50–55 hour work week
