Job Title: Night Shift Machine Operator


Job Description


The Night Shift Machine Operator operates and maintains imaging equipment used in the production of printing plates. This role ensures that all plates meet quality and accuracy standards while supporting efficient production and strictly following safety and operational procedures during night shift operations.


Responsibilities


+ Operate imaging and related production equipment to manufacture printing plates according to established specifications.

+ Monitor equipment performance throughout the shift and make basic adjustments to maintain consistent quality and productivity.

+ Perform quality inspections on all finished plates to verify compliance with customer and production specifications.

+ Pack and prepare finished plates for shipment, including labeling, stacking, and securing materials as required.

+ Conduct routine equipment checks and promptly report maintenance concerns or irregularities to the appropriate personnel.

+ Assist with assembly tasks related to plate production and ensure components are correctly prepared for imaging.

+ Support production workflows by moving materials and products using forklifts or other material-handling equipment, if authorized and trained.

+ Perform visual and dimensional inspections during and after production to identify defects or inconsistencies.

+ Maintain accurate counts and basic documentation related to production, inspection, and packing activities as directed.

+ Keep the work area clean, organized, and safe by following housekeeping standards and promptly addressing spills or obstructions.

+ Follow all company safety, quality, and operational procedures, including lockout/tagout and equipment handling guidelines.

+ Collaborate with team members and supervisors to resolve production issues and implement new procedures as they are introduced.

+ Perform additional duties and support new processes as assigned to meet changing production and business needs.


Essential Skills


+ Proven ability to operate production or imaging machinery in a manufacturing or similar environment.

+ Experience with machine operation tasks such as starting, stopping, adjusting, and monitoring equipment during production.

+ Hands-on experience with assembly work related to manufacturing or production processes.

+ Strong inspection skills, including the ability to identify defects and verify products against specifications.

+ Experience in production work, including following work orders and meeting output targets.

+ Experience with packing finished products, including preparing items for shipment and handling packaging materials.

+ Ability to safely operate a forklift or similar material-handling equipment, where training and authorization are provided.

+ Capability to follow detailed safety, quality, and operational procedures consistently.

+ Attention to detail and accuracy when inspecting, packing, and documenting production activities.

+ Ability to maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area throughout the shift.

+ Willingness and ability to work night shifts and adapt to a production schedule.


Additional Skills & Qualifications


+ Previous experience in a printing, imaging, or plate production environment is beneficial.

+ Familiarity with quality control practices and basic production documentation is an asset.

+ Comfort working with routine equipment checks and reporting maintenance needs.

+ Ability to learn and follow new procedures as processes and equipment evolve.

+ Strong teamwork skills and willingness to support different tasks within the production area as needed.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $29.00 - $32.00/hr.
