Westmoreland Mechanical Testing & Research is looking to fill our Test Technician role. In this position you will perform a variety of quality, customized tests which will analyze materials to determine strength, stability, purity, chemical content, and other characteristics, to identify any performance/reliability issues with the material. This is a great opportunity for motivated individuals who want a chance to work in a fast-paced environment and learn some new skills, all within the Latrobe/Youngstown, PA area. Looking to fill evening, night and weekend shifts. Must be able to train on daylight for a period of time. No experience necessary! Training is provided. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Sets up laboratory equipment and instrumentation required for tests, research, or process control
Performs a variety of quality, customized tests which will analyze materials to determine strength, stability, purity, chemical content, and other characteristics, in order to identify any performance/reliability issues with the material Organizes and maintains the test lab Safely operates tools such as a band saw, grinder, sander, polisher and mounting machinery Maintains detailed records of test results Performs other duties and tasks as assigned
Qualifications and Skills:
US Citizenship required High school diploma or GED required Willingness to learn
Ability to prioritize and multi-task
Strong attention to detail Strong organizational skills Strong time management skills The ability to work independently as well as in a team environment Mechanically inclined individuals preferred Experience working with blueprints preferred Ability to stand, sit, or move around for prolonged periods of time
