Job Summary

Responsible for monitoring mining dashboards, network dashboards, weather, physical security, conducting energy curtailments, and implementing initial communications and analysis for all incidents.


Schedule

  • Sunday to Tuesday, 7 pm - 7 am CST
  • Every other Saturday, 7 pm - 7 am CST


Job Responsibilities

  • Maintain the operations center at the HQ office in Austin, TX.
  • Coordinate with site managers and power companies to ensure synergy between data centers and their respective grids.
  • Monitor Minder summaries, operational and non-operational miners, miner temperatures, local weather, and hash rates at all data center sites.
  • Provide first-line investigation, diagnosis, prioritization, and documentation of all operational incidents using Jira.
  • Communicate all Jira incidents involving curtailment to the sev0, sev1, or sev2 distribution lists.
  • Conduct economic, load, and temperature curtailments according to each site's SLA requirements.
  • Monitor all network devices through Zabbix and assist site network resources in resolving alerts.
  • Monitor, report, and document all physical security issues using Jira, unless otherwise specified by the Ops Center Manager or the Director of Security.
  • Complete mandatory security software training and obtain certification.
  • Assign unresolved operational incidents to higher-tier support for service restoration coordination.
  • Coordinate with site managers, DCTs, and network resources on each operational incident’s status and actions, tracking through to resolution.
  • Notify oncoming shift personnel of pending actions or upcoming events relevant to the operations center and the sites it supports.
  • List handover action items in an email, with management carbon copied for the oncoming shift to complete.
  • Monitor weather and site safety action plans at each site.
  • Communicate any priority safety or security issues to site personnel to mitigate potential risks.
  • Submit weekly and monthly documentation of problem areas for management review.


Qualifications Required

  • At least 3 years of relevant experience in data center support.
  • Strong IT troubleshooting skills in network, platform, and storage.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience with Confluence, Jira, Slack, and Zabbix.
  • Basic knowledge of blockchain principles.
  • Willingness to learn new technologies and applications.


Additional Qualifications(a plus)

  • Understanding of ITIL service delivery concepts.
  • Linux administration experience.
  • Experience with coding languages such as Perl, Python, PHP, and JavaScript.
  • Genetec software experience.
  • Experience with wireless technologies, VPNs, Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS), WAN Accelerators, and associated technologies.
  • Certifications: Network+, ITIL Foundations, CCENT, Security+.
