Position Overview

Central Maine Medical Center is seeking a Board-Certified/Board-Eligible Internal Medicine or Family Medicine Physician to join our Nocturnal Hospitalist team. This is an excellent opportunity to practice high-quality inpatient medicine in a collaborative, patient-centered environment while enjoying a flexible nocturnist schedule.

 
Position Highlights
  • Patient Volume: Manageable nightly census with dedicated support

  • Coverage Model: Physician-led team with APP support (NP/PA)

About Us

Central Maine Healthcare (CMH), a member of Prime Healthcare Foundation, is an integrated healthcare delivery system serving approximately 400,000 residents across central, western, and midcoast Maine through a network of more than 40 primary and specialty care locations. Responsibilities:
  • Provide comprehensive inpatient care during overnight hours
  • Admit patients from the emergency department

  • Cross-cover and manage existing hospitalized patients

  • Respond to overnight clinical changes and rapid responses

  • Collaborate with nursing staff, specialists, and care teams

  • Ensure thorough documentation and effective handoffs

Qualifications:
  • MD or DO degree from an accredited program
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine

  • Eligible for or active Maine medical license

  • Strong clinical, communication, and teamwork skills
