Mercy Medical Group (MMG) is seeking a Hospitalist Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join our multi-specialty group in the Sacramento area.


The MMG Nocturnist Advanced Practice Provider (APP) plays a crucial role in supporting hospitalist physicians in providing excellent care to hospitalized patients. This position requires a highly skilled and compassionate individual dedicated to patient safety and quality care. The APP will work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals at night. The Nocturnist APP’s primary focus will be on cross-cover care for patients, though they may also admit patients to the general medical floor from the emergency department or as a transfer from another facility, as well as provide hospital medicine consultations for specialists.

+ Hospitalists self-schedule themselves on a periodic basis, based on a flexible-scheduling model


Key Responsibilities :


+ Direct patient care: Provide cross-coverage care to hospitalized patients as well as facilitate patient admissions, consults, transfers, and discharges, under the supervision of a hospitalist physician

+ Acute triage: Assess and manage acute changes in hospitalized patient conditions

+ Documentation: Maintain accurate, timely, thorough records detailing patient care and transfer center requests at night

+ Collaboration and communication: Work with attending physicians, medical specialists, residents, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and efficient patient care


Scheduling/Structure


+ Full-time clinical hospitalist position (1.0)

+ Night shifts will be scheduled as 10-hour shifts, with flexible scheduling

+ Maintains privileges at all Dignity-affiliated hospitals

+ No procedures

+ 165 shifts per year


Compensation & Benefits:


+ Compensation Range: $161,000 - $166,000 / Year DOE

+ Sign-on bonus available

+ Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life, and disability

Qualifications


+ Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) with relevant acute care experience

+ Minimum of 2 years of experience as an APP in an acute care setting encouraged but not required

+ Active California medical license (or ability to obtain)

+ DEA certification
