Salary : $65,000 Annually
Monday-Saturday 5:00am until finish
Location Note:Candidates must reside in Homestead, Florida City, or Key Largo. You will not be required to commute to our Fort Lauderdale warehouse outside of your initial new hire orientation.
No CDL required! You will be operating a standard 26-foot box truck. A valid standard driver's license (Class E) with a clean driving record is all that is required.

Position Summary:
We are seeking a reliable, independent Remote Delivery Driver to service our Key West route.
Because this route makes deliveries four hours away from our main facility, you will never have to commute to our Fort Lauderdale warehouse (outside of your initial new hire orientation). Instead, you will operate as a remote driver: a team member handling our Key Largo route will bring the product down to meet you, and you will transfer the product to your truck to complete the Key West deliveries.
Requirement: Candidates must reside in Homestead, Florida City, or the Key Largo area to facilitate this daily meet-up and transfer.
Essential Functions
Coordinates daily with the Key Largo driver to safely and efficiently transfer product to your 26 ft box truck.
Ensures safe, accurate, timely, and efficient delivery of Halperns’ products along the Key West route.
Follows all company and Department of Transportation (DOT) policies and procedures.
Builds and maintains good customer relationships. Demonstrates self-control.
Accurately collects customer payments. Safeguards company funds and follows Halperns’ banking policies.
Monitors reefer temperature, and reports mechanical issues and damages in a timely manner.
Performs daily pre/post-trip inspections of vehicles and equipment.
Manages daily paperwork accurately and on time, including registers, credits, pick-ups, and check-ins.
Maintains the truck cab and cargo area in a clean and organized manner.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
Ability to adhere to all safety/compliance regulations and procedures.
Must maintain a professional appearance wearing the Halperns’ uniform.
This position requires extreme reliability, punctuality, problem-solving, and attention to detail.
Ability to work highly independently as a remote driver while still functioning as part of the regional logistics team.
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Must be goal-oriented with a positive “can-do” attitude.
Ability to read, write, understand, and communicate in the English language.
Ability to meet the physical demands of this job, including the lifting, pushing, and pulling of meat and seafood products during the truck-to-truck transfer and final customer deliveries.
