Non-Clinical - Facilities - Painter

Monday Friday 7AM-3:30PM Location: PIH Good Samaritan Hospital 1225 Wilshire Blvd LA CA 90017 Interview preference: In-person POSITION SUMMARY Under direct supervision of the Assistant POM Manager or Plant Operations Manager when performing painting and related duties for construction projects and general maintenance of equipment and building systems throughout the Hospital campus as directed. SPECIFIC SKILLS NEEDED Able to work alone, organize jobs, teach various skills to others. Sufficient expertise in specialty area(s), i.e., surface preparation, painting, and wall coverings, to meet staffing needs of the hospital and minimize the need to utilize outside contractors. Should be knowledgeable of material and work procedures used in surface preparation, painting, and wall covering applications. Possess ability to read blueprints. Strong verbal and written communication skills, critical thinking skills, problem solving skills, and computer skills EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/TRAINING Required: High School, GED or trade school graduate with courses in arithmetic, mathematics, and painting. California Drivers License required Demonstrate competence in painting and related fields. Able to do basic repairs and maintenance on hospital building systems LA City Fire Card within 6 months of employment Competent and can perform independently Preferred: Three to Five years of experience in all kinds of painting preferred.
