Health and Information Management/Quality and Patient Safety Specialist

Summary:

• Location: New York, New York
• Work Mode: Local
• Schedule: Full Time; 5X8 M-F 9AM-5PM
• Duration: 17 weeks, through 12/31/26

Responsibilities:

• Participate in hospital-wide continuous readiness activities to ensure ongoing compliance with Joint Commission, CMS, and DOH requirements.
• Serve as a subject matter expert for hospital teams in assessing compliance with regulatory standards.
• Collaborate with departments to implement standardized processes for accreditation and regulatory activities.
• Facilitate the development and monitor the completion of corrective action plans and related data analysis.
• Lead tracing activities, internal mock surveys, focused standards assessments, training, and education.
• Respond to requests from surveyors and guide operational leaders in documentation review.
• Synthesize complex information for operational and senior leaders, identifying areas of risk.
• Review and interpret hospital data to ensure standards are measured appropriately.
• Maintain current knowledge of external standards and regulations, serving as a subject matter expert.
• Design and deliver educational training to enhance organizational knowledge of accreditation and regulatory requirements.
• Identify and present areas of regulatory risk to the organization.
• Participate in hospital regulatory programs in various roles, including survey escort and tracing activities.
• Manage FSA teams, identifying areas of risk and collaborating on corrective action plans.
• Maintain a central repository of all hospital survey activity and provide reports to leadership.
• Participate in various hospital and Quality committees, work groups, or task forces as assigned.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree
• Minimum 5 years of experience in healthcare-related roles
• Quality Assurance experience is crucial
• Hospital healthcare experience is required
• Knowledge of Joint Commission, CMS, and DOH requirements
• Experience with desktop computer applications and knowledge of database concepts
• Advanced skills with Microsoft applications including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
• Experience with managing and interpreting data
• Ability to manage multiple activities and meet timelines and deadlines
• Ability to work with various departments and levels of personnel

Preferred Skills:

• Master's degree
• 3 years of Project Management experience
• Ability to plan and lead projects, facilitate project scope, develop project plans, manage timelines, and provide direction and support to project teams
