Description

Job Title: Non-Emergency Medical Transportation (NEMT) Driver.
Location: Danville,VA.
Job Type: Full-Time.
Reports To: Transportation Manager/Supervisor.

Job Summary:
We are seeking a reliable, compassionate, and safety-focused Non-Emergency Medical Transportation (NEMT) Driver to join our team. The NEMT Driver will be responsible for safely transporting patients to and from medical appointments, treatment centers, and other health-related destinations. This role is crucial in helping clients maintain access to essential healthcare services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Safely transport clients to and from medical appointments in a timely and courteous manner.
  • Assist passengers in and out of the vehicle when necessary, including those with mobility challenges or in wheelchairs.
  • Maintain a clean, well-maintained, and properly fueled vehicle at all times.
  • Use GPS or route mapping tools to ensure efficient travel.
  • Adhere to all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies.
  • Accurately complete trip logs, mileage records, and other documentation as required.
  • Report any incidents, accidents, or vehicle issues promptly to management.
  • Communicate professionally and respectfully with clients, caregivers, dispatch, and healthcare personnel.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA guidelines at all times.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Previous experience in transportation, caregiving, or customer service preferred.
  • Ability to lift and assist clients when necessary.
  • CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain) is a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Must pass background check and drug screening.

Working Conditions:
  • Must be able to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends if needed.
  • Work is performed in a vehicle and various indoor/outdoor environments.
  • May involve lifting, bending, and assisting clients with limited mobility.
