Accounting Manager (Confidential Search)

Salary: $80,000 – $100,000 + Bonus Potential

Overview

A well-established organization is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to take on a high-impact role with significant visibility across the finance function. This position is currently supporting responsibilities at the Controller level and offers broad exposure across accounting operations.

This opportunity is well-suited for a technically strong CPA who enjoys hands-on accounting and prefers depth of expertise over pursuing an executive leadership track.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily accounting operations, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting
• 
  
• Perform and/or supervise month-end and year-end close processes
• 
  
• Support Controller-level responsibilities as needed
• 
  
• Apply and maintain compliance with GASB standards
• 
  
• Manage general ledger activity, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation
• 
  
• Assist with audits, budgeting, and forecasting processes
• 
  
• Partner cross-functionally to improve financial processes and internal controls
• 
  
• Utilize ERP systems such as Microsoft Dynamics 365 / Business Central
• 
  

Qualifications

• 
  
• CPA required (open to both early-career and seasoned professionals)
• 
  
• Strong experience in governmental accounting
• 
  
• Working knowledge of GASB standards, particularly lease accounting
• 
  
• Exposure to nonprofit and/or private accounting environments preferred
