Non-Profit - Controller - Houston

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Controller to join our non-profit organization in Houston. The Controller will be responsible for overseeing all financial activities, including financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance with regulatory requirements.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA preferred
- Proven experience as a Controller or similar role in the non-profit sector
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, regulations, and best practices
- Proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities

Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee the organization's financial operations
- Develop and monitor the annual budget in collaboration with senior management
- Prepare financial statements and reports for internal and external stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and reporting requirements
- Analyze financial data and provide recommendations for improvements
- Supervise accounting staff and provide training and guidance as needed
- Support audits and other regulatory reviews
- Participate in strategic financial planning and decision-making processes
