We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Non-Profit Director (Lincoln County COAD) to lead Lincoln County organizations active in disasters management initiatives. In this vital role, you will oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of relief operations during crises, ensuring rapid and effective support to Lincoln County. Your leadership will drive program development, volunteer management, and strategic partnerships with nonprofits, faith-based organizations, emergency management partners and frontline communities to maximize impact. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a tangible difference in disaster-affected areas by leveraging your expertise in emergency management, public health, and hazard mitigation.

Duties

  • Develop comprehensive disaster response strategies, including contingency planning and hazard mitigation measures to prepare for various emergency scenarios.
  • Lead and manage multidisciplinary teams of staff and volunteers, fostering a collaborative environment focused on swift action and resilience.
  • Coordinate with government agencies, non-profit organizations, and community partners to align relief efforts and secure necessary resources.
  • Oversee the creation of grant proposals to secure funding for disaster response programs, ensuring compliance with all requirements.
  • Conduct public speaking engagements to raise awareness about disaster preparedness, response initiatives, and community resilience efforts.
  • Manage program budgets effectively while monitoring expenditures to ensure optimal use of resources during crisis situations.
  • Implement emergency response readiness protocols through regular training exercises, drills, and staff development initiatives.
  • Manage grant related administrative responsibilities.
  • Support COAD board committee meetings through scheduling, coordination, and follow-up.
  • Recruit and engage organizations and partners from diverse sectors throughout Lincoln County.
  • Conduct outreach to frontline and historical under resourced communities, including rural, Indigenous and faith-based communities.

Qualifications

  • Proven leadership experience in emergency response management or related fields such as public health, non-profit leadership or government agency operations.
  • Strong background in program development, program management, and contingency planning within disaster relief contexts.
  • Excellent public speaking skills with the ability to communicate complex information clearly to diverse audiences.
  • Demonstrated success in grant proposal writing and securing funding for large-scale programs.
  • Extensive volunteer management experience, including recruitment, training, and coordination of relief volunteers.
  • Knowledge of hazard mitigation strategies and emergency management best practices.
  • Ability to work under pressure in fast-paced environments while maintaining attention to detail and strategic focus.
  • Commitment to equity, inclusion and culturally responsive engagement practices.
  • Access to reliable internet and phone services.
  • Ability to travel throughout Lincoln County.
  • Valid driver's license, reliable transportation and proof of insurance.
