The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University''s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
Position Summary
The State Pre-College Enrichment Program (S-PREP) is a free academic and college preparation program for 7th-12th grade students in New York City. Its mission is to increase the number of students pursuing careers in healthcare and STEM. The program offers academic enrichment courses, career development workshops, college advisement, and educational field trips.
Preceptors serve as lead instructors, teaching enrichment courses in math, science, and electives. They are responsible for lesson delivery, assessment, and student engagement, with the support of program staff and facilitators. This role offers valuable teaching experience and the chance to inspire and mentor future healthcare and STEM leaders.
Course offerings will include, but may not be limited to Biochemistry, Calculus, Algebra, Chemistry, Brain & Cognitive Science, Geometry, Ready for Pre-Med, Physics, Anatomy, Algebra II/Trig, Biology, Pre-Calculus, College Readiness, Environmental Sci., Computer Science, Ready for Dentistry, Ready for Emergency Med.
Responsibilities
Preceptors will report to the S-PREP Program Administrators within the Office of Student Diversity, Inclusion, & Belonging. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:
