Pay Rate $15/hr Minimum Experience/Education
Current undergraduate student, completed lab personnel safety training, completed CITI training in working with rodents in the research setting and working with the IACUC, previous experience with PCR and cell culture
Departmental Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education:
Ability to communicate effectively, ability to maintain lab notes and analyze data, ability to generate effective powerpoint presentations.
Duties and Responsibilities
Learn about plasmid DNA and cloning and CRISPR technologies, cell culture, as well as mouse handling and restraint. Watch and assist senior researchers in the lab setting and perform the learned techniques including mouse handling and restraint and animal husbandry and breeding. Prepare graphs of data analysis. Prepare powerpoint presentations of results and data.

However, any non-permanent employee hired to work 30 or more hours per week for three months or more (cumulative of all positions, and not designated as variable hour worker), must be offered the chance to enroll in the High Deductible Health Plan, within 30 days of their eligibility. Any non-permanent employee hired to work less than 30 hours per week (cumulative of all positions or designated as variable hour worker - i.e. student workers) are measured during designated measurement periods. If they average 30 or more hours per week over a designated measurement period, they will be offered the chance to enroll in the High Deductible Health Plan and will be notified of instructions.
