Scion Legal Staffing has been engaged to conduct a search for a Nonprofit Corporate Paralegal for a mission-driven philanthropic organization in Los Angeles. This is a full-time, on-site, contract-to-hire opportunity offering the potential to transition into a permanent role based on performance and organizational needs.

Position Overview

The Nonprofit Corporate Paralegal will support a variety of legal, governance, compliance, and transactional matters while partnering with leadership, outside counsel, and cross-functional teams. We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and tech-savvy professional with experience in a corporate, nonprofit, or in-house legal environment.

Responsibilities

  • Review contracts and assist with drafting agreements, policies, and legal documents
  • Maintain corporate records, board materials, and governance documentation
  • File reports and manage legal records and document retention programs
  • Gather information for reports, audits, and compliance activities
  • Support mergers, corporate transactions, and real estate matters
  • Assist with complex gifts, charitable giving, and grant-related documentation
  • Conduct legal and business research using online resources
  • Utilize AI tools and legal technology to improve workflows
  • Coordinate with internal teams and outside counsel on legal matters

Qualifications

  • Corporate, nonprofit, or in-house legal experience
  • Experience reviewing contracts and drafting legal documents
  • Knowledge of corporate governance, compliance, and document management
  • Familiarity with mergers, transactions, or real estate matters preferred
  • Experience supporting charitable giving or complex gifts is a plus
  • Strong technical proficiency, including Microsoft Office and AI tools
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and multitasking skills

Compensation

This contract-to-hire position pays approximately $58.97/hour (equivalent to approximately $115,000 annually based on a 37.5-hour workweek).
