Job Summary: The Electrical Journeyman is a skilled professional responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems in commercial, industrial, and residential settings. This role requires a thorough understanding of electrical codes, safety regulations, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. The Electrical Journeyman will interpret blueprints, troubleshoot electrical issues, and ensure all work is completed to the highest standards of quality and safety. Key Responsibilities: •Installation: oInstall, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures. oEnsure that all installations are in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and local electrical codes. oMeasure, cut, bend, thread, and install conduit and electrical conductors. oConnect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components. •Troubleshooting & Repair: oDiagnose and repair malfunctioning electrical systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools. oInspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure code compliance. •Maintenance: oPerform routine maintenance on electrical systems to prevent breakdowns and ensure optimal performance. oInspect and test electrical systems to ensure proper functioning. •Safety & Compliance: oAdhere strictly to all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and industry best practices. oEnsure proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times. oIdentify and report potential electrical hazards. •Blueprint Interpretation: oRead and interpret blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams to determine the layouts of electrical systems. •Teamwork & Supervision: oWork effectively with other journeymen, apprentices, and various trades. oProvide guidance and training to apprentices and junior electricians, ensuring their adherence to safety and quality standards. •Material Management: oEstimate material requirements and order necessary supplies. oManage and organize tools and equipment on job sites. •Documentation: oComplete all necessary paperwork, including work orders, inspection reports, and time sheets, accurately and in a timely manner. Qualifications: •Education & Certification: oHigh school diploma or equivalent. oCompletion of an accredited apprenticeship program. oValid Journeyman Electrician license in [State(s) where work is performed]. oOSHA 10 or 30 certification preferred. •Experience: o Hold a current North Dakota Journeyman Electrician License oProven experience in commercial and industrial electrical work. •Skills: oThorough knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and local electrical codes. oProficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams. oStrong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills for electrical systems. oAbility to use a variety of electrical tools and testing equipment safely and effectively. oExcellent problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities. oStrong communication and interpersonal skills. oAbility to work independently and as part of a team. oValid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
