NORTH EAST REGION SITE SECURITY SPECIALIST
The Site Security Specialist (Northeast) is a highly proactive, organized, and self-started security professional responsible for bringing corporate sites across Massachusetts (MA) and New Hampshire (NH) into strict alignment with global security policies, procedures, and industry best practices.
Reporting directly into the US Security & Workplace Solutions team-with a dotted line to Massachusetts Site Leadership and local area management-the Specialist oversees regional risk mitigation, security technology infrastructure, guard force management, crisis management and security investigations.
This role requires exceptional technical acumen, sound judgment, and the discretion to manage highly sensitive corporate matters.
Key RESPONSIBLITIES
Partner closely with site facilities management to develop, execute, and maintain three foundational security risk documents and programs:
Site Security Surveys: Examine and evaluate existing protective measures (intrusion detection, guard post orders, visitor control, mail screening, termination procedures, and bomb threat protocols). Assess countermeasure effectiveness (deter, detect, delay, respond) and provide short-term recommendation plans to bridge compliance gaps.
Site Security Risk Assessments: Conduct comprehensive threat, vulnerability, and consequence analyses to prioritize security goals. Establish final risk ratings and produce actionable countermeasure implementation plans aligned with corporate guidance and regulatory requirements.
Security Risk Reduction Implementation Plans: Create a detailed roadmap outlining necessary physical and operational enhancements-including perimeter protection, access control, lighting, badging, surveillance, and emergency response. Define clear ownership and strict target completion dates for all actions.
Guard Force Management: Provide indirect supervisory oversight for contract guard force operations. Assist with managing vendor contracts to drive maximum performance against Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). Ensure officers operate from up-to-date, written post orders and maintain a rigorous certification process for assigned duties.
Training & Awareness: Establish routine security training programs across multiple delivery methods (face-to-face, online, self-taught) for employees, vendors, contractors, and visitors. Deploy security bulletins, notices, and advisories, enforcing a structured validation and re-training lifecycle.
Drills & Penetration Testing: Plan and execute physical penetration exercises to test countermeasure effectiveness. Coordinate and lead joint training initiatives and crisis drills with local emergency responders and law enforcement.
Infrastructure Troubleshooting: Serve as the technical subject matter expert to understand, design, and troubleshoot localized security systems, including CCTV, X-ray machinery, Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS), communications (phones, radios), and Emergency Notification Systems (ENS).
Preventative Maintenance: Design and implement a proactive preventative maintenance program with technology vendors. Hold recurring monthly and annual operational reviews with contract providers to ensure high system uptime and vendor accountability.
Investigation Oversight: With guidance from leadership, facilitate, conduct, or oversee formal investigations into security incidents and corporate allegations, collaborating closely with cross-functional partners (HR, Compliance, Supply Chain and Product Security, etc.).
Incident Frameworks: Maintain processes for securing evidence at incident scenes and promote an environment of transparent reporting through the corporate electronic reporting portal.
Intelligence & Analytics: Study localized security incident trends and historical records to detect patterns of loss, identify emerging vulnerabilities, and establish robust corrective actions post-incident.
Experience & Education:
Education: Associate's degree (or equivalent). A bachelor''s degree in a related field is a plus.
Professional Certifications: Active CPP (Certified Protection Professional) or APP (Associate Protection Professional) designation is highly preferred.
Experience: 2-4 years of progressive corporate security management experience, ideally operating within a manufacturing, corporate headquarters, or highly regulated pharmaceutical/industrial environment.
5+ years of security experience in a similar highly regulated industry may be substituted for Education or Professional Certification requirements.
Personal and Interpersonal Skills Independent & Accountable: Proven ability to work autonomously and deliver results while operating remotely from a direct supervisor. Relationship Builder: Highly effective at building cross-functional relationships with senior site management, industry peers, and regional security vendors. Network Oriented: Active in maintaining an external network with local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies. Balanced & Driven: Action-oriented with a strong commitment to self-development and professional ambition, balanced with healthy work-life integration. CommunicatorClearly articulates succinct messages to all audiences in all forms. Uses strong communication skills to influence and negotiate. Operating SkillsStrategic Planning: Ability to set and articulate long-term (3-5 year) security program goals that align with corporate management targets. Program & Budget Management: Well-organized planner capable of prioritizing competing deadlines.
