Job Title: Forging Machine Operator
Pay: $20.00/hr
Hours: 1st Shift, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm

What You’ll Do:
As a Forging Machine Operator, you will be responsible for:
  • Operating various forging equipment such as hammers, mechanical presses, hydraulic presses, and furnaces to shape steel billets.
  • Heating steel billets to precise forging temperatures, carefully monitoring furnace conditions to maintain optimal process parameters.
  • Assisting with die setups, tool changes, and preparing materials for each forging cycle.
  • Safely handling hot steel using tongs and PPE, ensuring personal safety and compliance with safety protocols.
  • Conducting in-process inspections to verify the shape, dimensions, and quality of forged parts, maintaining strict adherence to specifications.
  • Removing scale, performing basic trimming or shearing operations as needed to prepare parts for further processing.
  • Maintaining and troubleshooting forging equipment through routine lubrication and mechanical adjustments.
  • Loading and unloading forged parts from CNC machines, such as lathes and mills, following proper training.
  • Monitoring CNC operation, performing simple adjustments, and inspecting machined components for quality.
  • Deburring, cleaning, and staging finished components for subsequent production steps.
  • Collaborating effectively with CNC leads or setup technicians to communicate machine concerns, tool wear, or quality issues.

What You’ll Bring:
The ideal candidate for this role will have:
  • A High School diploma or GED.
  • Prior experience in steel forging, heavy manufacturing, or hot metal environments is preferred but not required; training will be provided.
  • Physical stamina with the ability to work in high-temperature conditions.
  • Ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Basic math and measurement skills, with strong attention to detail.
  • A safety-first mindset, with strict adherence to PPE protocols and best practices.
