Austin is booming with tech-driven construction and large-scale commercial expansion and we re looking for skilled Fire Alarm Technicians ready to step into high-impact roles on major projects across the area.
TradeSTAR is partnering with a leading low-voltage integrator supporting medium to large-scale commercial builds including healthcare facilities, campuses, high-rises, and mission-critical environments. If you ve got fire alarm experience and a Texas Fire Alarm License (FAL), this is your chance to get on projects that demand precision, technical skill, and leadership.
What You ll Do
You ll be hands-on with advanced life safety systems in active commercial construction environments:
Install, terminate, and service fire alarm systems on large-scale commercial projects
Work with initiating devices, notification appliances, control panels, and annunciators
Perform system testing, inspections, and troubleshooting (ground faults, circuit integrity, etc.)
Read and interpret blueprints, riser diagrams, and system layouts
Run conduit, pull wire, and ensure installations meet NFPA 72 and local code requirements
Participate in system commissioning, acceptance testing, and documentation
(Level II/III) Lead small to large crews, manage workflow, and report progress from the field
Support system certifications and ensure AHJ compliance
Who You Are
We re hiring across multiple experience levels bring your skillset and grow from there:
Level I: 1 2+ years of fire alarm or low voltage experience; basic device terminations, cable pulling, and troubleshooting
Level II: 3 5+ years of experience + Texas Fire Alarm License (FAL) required; capable of panel work, advanced troubleshooting, and reading prints
Level III / Lead: 5+ years of experience + FAL; able to lead crews, manage large-scale installs, handle system certifications and documentation
Strong knowledge of NFPA 72, fire alarm circuits, and system components
Experience with VOM meters, voltage drop calculations, and system diagnostics
Comfortable working in active commercial construction environments
Reliable transportation and a solid work ethic
